A fun-filled Isle of Wight charity quiz night is being organised to support two ambitious local endurance challenges – Rachel Richards’ “53 at 53” double marathon challenge and Jayne Merritt’s 100km ultra-distance event.
The “Gurt” Isle of Wight Charity Quiz will take place at Robin Hill Adventure Park on Wednesday 4th March 2026 from 6.30pm, bringing together the local community for an evening of friendly competition, laughter and fundraising.
“53 at 53” and 100km Isle of Wight ultra challenge
Rachel Richards, founder of WightWays and a local Healthy Habits Coach, will be running two marathons just one week apart in 2026 as part of her “53 at 53” challenge; completing 53 miles across two events in a week to celebrate midlife strength and resilience.
Meanwhile, fellow Islander Jayne Merritt is preparing to take on an extraordinary 100km Isle of Wight ultra challenge, pushing physical and mental limits while raising funds and inspiring others to step outside their comfort zones.
Richards: This quiz is about community
Rachel said,
“We wanted to create something that brings people together in a relaxed, social way while supporting the journeys we’re both on.
“Endurance events can feel quite individual, but this quiz is about community; having fun, connecting with others, and turning miles into something
bigger.”
A welcoming atmosphere
The quiz night promises a welcoming atmosphere with varied quiz rounds, hot food and drinks available, and plenty of local humour.
Teams are encouraged, but individuals are equally welcome and can join a group on the night.
Funds raised will support Isle of Wight Search and Rescue.

“Taking on the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge is as much about mindset as fitness, and knowing the community is behind you makes a huge difference.
“We hope people will come along, enjoy themselves, and be part of the journey.”
