Have your questions to Police Chief answered at online public scrutiny session

Donna Jones, the Police and Crime Commissioner will be holding her next public scrutiny session, ‘COPS’ (Commissioner’s Oversight of Policing Services), with the Chief Constable at 6pm on 2nd December 2021.

The session will be live on social media and the Commissioner is inviting the public to watch and ask questions on the night or submit their questions in advance for her to put to the Chief Constable on their behalf.

The Commissioner will be hosting the question and answer session as a Facebook Live event, so that any members of the public can ask questions online and receive an immediate response from the Chief Constable.

Send your questions in advance
The Commissioner is also asking for questions in advance of the session if members of the public cannot attend on the day or do not have access to social media.

The session will be recorded and shared through the Commissioner’s Website after the event.

Submit a question
Anyone who would like to submit a question in advance can do so by sending it through to the Commissioner’s office by 12 noon on Monday 29th November.

Questions can be on any areas of concern the public may have around crime and policing. Questions should be emailed to: [email protected] or by calling 01962 871595 and leaving your question in a message.

Jones:
Commissioner Jones said,

“The first COPS session I held with the Chief Constable in September gave hundreds of local residents the opportunity to put their concerns to the Chief Constable and thousands more the opportunity to watch live.

“I asked the Chief Constable a number of questions on a range of topics that concerned local residents including: police officers numbers and recruitment in Hampshire, anti-social behaviour, use of e-scooters, sexual violence against women and men, Hampshire Constabulary’s approach to firearms licensing and the handling of 101 calls.

“I am determined to make policing more accessible to local residents and COPS provides an important opportunity for you to have your voice heard on local policing issues. During the last COPS session, I am pleased to report as well as there being questions and some concerns, there was also considerable praise and thanks for the work of local police officers and of Hampshire Constabulary as a whole.”
