Ventnor Skatepark Concept Designs

Here’s how you can help inform the future of Ventnor Skatepark

The Ventnor Skatepark Project is driving ahead with gusto now and the team are keen to hear the views of Islanders young and old about their plans.

Kids activities session
Two consultations are kicking off this month.

The first is a kids ‘drop in’ session where there’ll be some activities and a chance to say what they would like to see, being held on 19th February between 12-2pm.

Design Consultation
The second is a Design Consultation, on 25th February between 8-10pm, for anyone who wants to share their ideas or concerns.

Both events will be at Ventnor Exchange (the former Post Office), Church Street, Ventnor.

Exciting developments
Zoe Thompson told OnTheWight,

“2016 has been great so far for the skatepark project, the planning is picking up pace and is really exciting.

“We have been in communication with a number of skate park build companies, their feedback so far has been really positive, and they have been surprised with how much of planning we have done ourselves and that standard to which we have achieved this.

“The trustees and committee members are working really hard behind the scenes, so every time someone donates to the skate park fund it really does mean a lot.

“We now want to open up the planning to more people, particularly the younger skaters, scooters and BMX users. We are hoping that the first of our consultations sessions will allow people to find out more and share their views.”
