Have your say on Ventnor’s future at free consultation evening

Ventnor Town Council is inviting residents to attend a public consultation evening organised jointly with the Ventnor Carnival Committee on Wednesday 4th November at 6pm at St Catherine’s Church.

The event has been organised to give local people an opportunity to hear about a number of important issues affecting the town, ask questions, share their views and help shape future decisions.

The event will include discussions on:

Ventnor Carnival
Led by the Carnival Chairperson and the Mayor, this session will provide an opportunity for residents to discuss the future of Ventnor Carnival and share their thoughts on how this important community event can continue to develop.

Beach safety
The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and representatives from local seafront businesses will lead a discussion on beach safety arrangements, reflecting on this year’s provision and seeking views on future priorities.

Seafront pumping station
County Councillor for Ventnor and St Lawrence, Ed Blake, will lead a discussion on issues relating to the seafront pumping station, providing updates and inviting comments from residents.

Ventnor Town Council financial position
The Town Clerk & RFO will present an overview of the Town Council’s current financial position including the challenges it has faced, in the context of setting a budget for the coming year.

Open forum
The evening will conclude with an open forum, giving residents the chance to raise any other matters affecting Ventnor and share ideas, concerns, or suggestions directly with local representatives.

Councillor Steve Cooper, Mayor of Ventnor, said,

“This consultation evening is an important opportunity for residents to have their say on a range of issues that affect our town.
