This month’s Isle of Wight NCT Nearly New Sale has been the most successful yet. The organisers would like to say thanks to the buyers and sellers who helped raise thousands of pounds for the parenting charity.
A charity for Islanders with head injuries, their friends, carers and families was among the first through the doors on 2 April, at the Riverside Centre in Newport.
Volunteers and members of Headway were delighted with their selection of toys, picked up at bargain prices. The sale of pre-loved baby and maternity clothes as well as toys and equipment took place in two rooms, for the first time. The average spend per head was £15.
Big thanks to all involved
Organiser Liz Traill says, “I’d like to say a huge thanks to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Gurit, Matalan, 5 Star Transport and the Riverside Centre for helping us make the day such a success.
“I had a great time organising my first ever Nearly New Sale and I’m all ready to start work on our next sale, which takes place in the autumn.”
The Isle of Wight NCT branch runs antenatal classes, as well as groups across the Isle of Wight for pregnant women, new parents and their babies and older children. The NCT also organises picnics, walks, coffee & play mornings, nights out for mums and family weekend activities. You don’t have to be a member to join in the fun.
