Tonight sees the April Cabinet meeting take place. As we have for the last four years, VB intends to cover the meeting live for those unable to attend.
As previously mentioned on VB, one item under consideration by the seven Cabinet members (Barry Abraham, George Brown, Dawn Cousins, Edward Giles, Tim Hunter-Henderson, Roger Mazillius and David Pugh) will be an extension to preferred bidder status for Real Ventures Ltd for the proposed Bio-Mass plant in Stag Lane.
Schools Capital Programme and Child Social Care
Also on the agenda is a report from the Leader of the council seeking agreement of the proposed Schools Capital Programme to “ensure that Island schools have sufficient and suitable accommodation to enable them to implement the proposals arising as a result of School Re-organisation”.
As mentioned last week, discussion and consideration of a proposed restructure of child social care is also on the agenda at tonight’s meeting.
