Help For Business Start-Ups From Chamber of Commerce

If you’re planning to go it alone and start up your own business it’s always wise to take advantage of any business advice or support being offered.

Step forward the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry.

They are working in collaboration with the IW Enterprise Agency to offer the Isle of Wight Lottery Business Start Up programme. The project is being sponsored by Barclays and aims to help those planning to go it alone understand the the world of self-employment.

The programme is offering business seminars free of charge (normally charged at £225) to anyone on the Island interested in setting up their own business.

You’ll be able to take part in a half day seminar ‘designed to test and refine business ideas’ and followed up with a full day session ‘covering issues including marketing, business planning, and finance, for those who are determined to start up in business’.

Once you’ve completed the programme the Chamber can also help you with applying for an interest free loan from the Isle of Wight Lottery.

Course dates
October: Tuesday 13th ½ day course; Monday 19th full day course.
November: Thursday 12th or Thursday 19th ½ day course; Monday 23rd full day course.
December: Thursday 10th or Thursday 17th ½ day course; Monday 21st full day course.

All sessions are held at the Chamber’s offices at Mill Court Business Centre, Furrlongs, Newport.
