Help For Heroes Hair and Beauty Comp

Some of the best hairdressers in the South will be battling it out next month at Cowes Yacht Haven.

Help For Heroes Hair and Beauty Comp The competition takes place 19 April and aims to raise lots of lovely cash for the Help For Heroes charity.

As well as the battle of the barnets, there’ll also be a swanky catwalk presentation and demo from Jonny Engstrom.

If you’re wondering “Jonny who?” he’s an award-winning stylist and art director for uber-trendy hairdressing salon, Guy Kremer.

The southern branch of the National Hairdressing Federation has organised the bash and want to encourage as many stylists as possible to unleash their flair and artistic skills.

Sue Braybon, from the federation, said: “We have so much talent when it comes to hairdressers on the island and in the south. We wanted to organise a competition to give them a chance to create some really avant garde styles and handle everything from the hair to the styling and makeup themselves. It’s something you don’t often get the chance to do in the salon unless you have a particularly adventurous client! We also wanted to raise some money for a good cause so we decided to donate all profits to the Help for Heroes charity, which is a cause close to our hearts.”

Ian Gregory, Events Centre Manager at Cowes Yacht Haven, added: “This is the first event of its kind at Cowes Yacht Haven and we’re really looking forward to seeing the creations on show. Help for Heroes is a wonderful charity and we hope everyone will come out to support it.”
