Help shape the Isle of Wight’s cultural landscape at these public drop-in events

Tell us what you think! Help plan for the future of arts, heritage, culture and creativity on our Island

The Island Collection announces a series of public drop-in events where you can help shape the creative and cultural future of the Isle of Wight.

This follows on from the hugely successful workshops and conversations held last Autumn around the Island from Sandown to Calbourne, and Cowes to Ventnor.

The Island’s grassroots cultural scene
Over 250 participants have already helped us identify what is special about the Island’s grassroots cultural scene today and begun developing a vision for the future which will strengthen the Island’s position as a cultural force and creative place for all.

To assist in the creation of this cultural strategy, The Island Collection is now holding the following public consultation sessions; just drop in at any time (no booking necessary), bring your ideas, and give your feedback on current thinking.

Public consultation sessions
You will find us at:

  • Dinosaur Isle on Sunday 26th February 2023, 10.30am-4pm
  • Ryde Library on Tuesday 28th February 2023, 10.30am-4pm
  • West Wight Sports and Community Centre on Wednesday 1st March 2023, 10.30am-4pm
  • Quay Arts on Friday 10th March 2023, 10.30am-4pm

We’d love to see you and have a chat! We anticipate the final strategy being launched in Summer 2023. If you want to discover more about our work on the cultural strategy, please take a look on our Website.

What is The Island Collection?
The Island Collection’s vision is to establish the Isle of Wight as a significant cultural environment and destination, for all those who live here, and for those who visit.

  • We will do this by working in an inclusive way to strengthen and underpin the often fragile organisations vital to our arts, culture and heritage.
  • We will provide an expert, strategic voice that represents the Island’s arts, culture and heritage organisations and articulates their collective value.
  • We will work with others to enhance and make more inclusive the Island’s cultural environment.
