Help shape your community: The latest Isle of Wight town and parish council vacancies

For those interested in local democracy and helping to shape their communities, two vacancies have arisen on both an Isle of Wight parish council, and a town council.

Brading Town Council
A vacancy has arisen on Brading Town Council.

The last date for ten local government electors for the Parish to give Notice in writing that they wish the vacancy to be filled by means of an election is Monday 15th April 2024.

Godshill Parish Council
A vacancy has also arisen on Godshill Parish Council.

The last date for ten local government electors for the Parish to give Notice in writing that they wish the vacancy to be filled by means of an election is Tuesday 16th April 2024.

Have your say
In both cases, if the required number of requests for a by-election are not received then the Town/Parish Councils will proceed to fill the vacancy by means of co-option, that is, the council choosing who they would like to fill the seat without residents having a say.

The role of town, parish or community councillors is voluntary and unpaid.
