High Sheriff Opens New Ecclestone George GardenWe hear that they’ve been working hard with residents on a new outdoor space at The Foyer in Ryde.

There will be a grand opening of the new gardens on Tuesday 29 September at 3.00pm by High Sheriff of the Isle of Wight, Gay Edwards.

Following the award of a £6,000 grant from Medina Housing Association, Foyer residents have worked together researching, sourcing and planting the previously un-used space with a range of herbs, aromatics and seasonal planting whilst helping Ecclestone George who have designed and created a bespoke patio with unique ‘nutshell’ seating using traditional earth casting techniques.

If you’ve not heard of The Foyer before it’s based in Ryde and provides quality supported housing for vulnerable young people aged 16-25. The service also extends to offering advice and access to training and employment.

Rachel Jagger-Thomas, Project Manager at the Foyer, said “Working with Eccleston George has been a great opportunity for the residents to explore ideas and get creative, and the results speak for themselves with this fantastic new outdoor space.”
