This sounds like a really interesting event. Thanks to Island storyteller, Sue Bailey for sharing with VB readers. Ed
A story concert about death? That will be different! Well, yes it will.
Janet Dowling will be telling stories about death from different cultures – sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes very challenging – but never ever something you might want to shy away from.
Janet, who works as a volunteer for Cruse Bereavement Care, is a professional storyteller and trained psychiatric social worker and uses storytelling in her therapeutic work.
Event starts at 7.30pm and takes place on 20th January at the Wheatsheaf Hotel.
Tickets cost £5 and are available on the door (at the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Newport) or in advance from Sue Bailey on 07837 601 315.
This concert is followed by a one day workshop, (Saturday 21st) on the use of storytelling in the care of the bereaved.
Contact Sue 07837 601 315 for more info about taking part in the workshop.
