A hole has appeared in a road in Shanklin, causing further diversions to traffic.
The road in question, St John’s Road, was already being used as a diversion route whilst other road works take place.
Island Roads say,
St Johns Road, Shanklin is now closed between Victoria Avenue and Brook Road due to the hole in the road that appeared earlier today. We advise that all vehicles follow the diversion route along Canteen Rd, Newport Road and Sandown Road.
Southern Vectis said are having to divert Route 2 via Florence Road, left into Grange Road and left into the High Street to rejoin the normal journey. The diversion will operate in both directions.
