Whilst we’re on the subject of YouTube, VentnorBlog readers might be interested to hear that local singer/songwriter Holly Kirby has an amazing 1750 subscribers to her YouTube channel.
It’s not surprising that 18 year old Holly, who is still in full time education, has attracted quite a following on YouTube. She has an absolutely beautiful voice.
Holly clearly has a passion for singing and songwriting. At an early age she learnt to play a wide range of musical instruments and has been capturing her performances on camera since the tender age of nine.
By the time she reached 15, Holly appeared on TV singing “Orinoco Flow” live. Apparently the show was watched by singer Enya, who got in touch to say how much she enjoyed Holly’s performance.
That must have boosted Holly’s confidence considerably and in 2008 when she went onto enter – and win a national competition to sing on-stage with Amy MacDonald which took place at the Southampton Guildhall.
It’s fantastic to see the burgeoning musical talent continue to shine on the Isle of Wight. We’d like to wish Holly the very best success in the future.
