We popped up to Newport at the weekend to get ourselves into the Christmas mentality.
Last year we were really happy with our tree from Shide trees. We got ourselves 9 foot of Serbian Spruce that lasted us 4 months in total. Pretty good value for £25 we figured.
Being happy bunnies after last year’s experience, we popped up there again to get us a bit more of that.
Guess what? What looked like the self same tree as last year was now being pumped out at £40!!!!
No surprise that it wasn’t long before we took off.
If you’re looking for a tree, there’s a few more sources that we came across.
As you’re leaving Blackwater, on your way to Newport, cast your eyes towards the old tin church on the right, before the junction. Trees of all sizes are going for £12 – looked a little small though.
Leaving Newport on the Fairlee Road to East Cowes, at Little Fairlee Farm you can find trees for a flat £15 no matter the size. These looked much bigger than the tin church ones.
