Plenty of Christmas cheer will be on the menu when Earl Mountbatten Hospice welcomes visitors for some delicious festive food at the Sunflower Café this week.
The venue is open to everyone for a traditional Christmas lunch all this week (except Saturday) between 12 and 2pm, serving turkey and all the trimmings for just £3.95 per person.
Lunch on Christmas Day
On Christmas Day, the John Cheverton Centre opens its doors at 11:30am for a sumptuous three-course Christmas lunch from 12:30pm.
For just £19.95, this will include a starter of homemade tomato soup or pate, followed by roast Turkey and all the trimmings (vegetarian option available), and finishing with a Christmas pudding with brandy cream or Strawberry Eton Mess.
Visitors are able to either bring their own accompanying drinks, or offer a donation for a glass of wine with their lunch. Booking is required via the John Cheverton Centre by phoning (01983) 529511.
Head Chef Gary Barton said:
“It’s always such a lovely atmosphere on Christmas Day.
“Our volunteers get really involved with the customers, helping to ensure that their Christmas lunch is extra special.”
Opening times
The Sunflower Café will then close for Boxing Day and will reopen on Wednesday 28 December, closing again from Saturday 31 December.
Normal service will resume from Monday 2 January 2017, when the Sunflower Café opens as usual between 8am and 4pm for a selection of delicious breakfasts and lunches.
