As mentioned yesterday afternoon, hundreds of Islanders and visitors were preparing their picnics and girding their loins to set off for the annual St Helens Fort Walk last night as one of the lowest summer tides hit the east coast of the Island.
Several readers have been in touch to share their photos from the annual event.
Christian Beasley from Beautiful Wight was been kind enough to share this set of photos below. His estimate of the numbers of people taking part was between 1,500-2000.

John Sparrow who arrived just before 6pm told OnTheWight those taking part had to battle with a strong wind and a fast-moving tide for the first half hour. He said the event was all over by 7.30pm. Thanks to John for this set of photos from the event.
