Ian’s cycle challenge raises over £4,000 for Prostate Cancer UK

Congratulations to Ian Gregory, who on Friday last week managed to cycle the last 300 miles in this year’s challenge for Prostate Cancer.

Twenty years ago Ian was diagnosed Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder, eight damaged discs in his spine, Arthritis and Tempro-mandibular dysfunction disorder. He was last week recovering from a bad bout of influenza but battled on to complete his challenge.

Following the mammoth ride, Ian told OnTheWight,

“I finally managed the 300 miles in 11 hrs 17 mins, finishing around 9.40pm.

“A massive £661.54 was raised, making the grand total so far is £4,291.54, the Isle of Wight really have done us and Prostate Cancer UK proud.

“I would like to thank Morrisons at Lake and all the staff for their help and the fantastic encouragement throughout the day.

“Oh and I did have a wee bit of help from my nine-month old granddaughter, Cody-Rae, if only in sheer pleasure to see her as we have both been ill.”

Well done Ian for completing your year of challenges against the odds.
