Solent Hawks, one of the Island’s recreational Ice hockey teams faced off against Swindon Rec Wildcats on Saturday night.
Looking to follow up recent good performances Hawks had a battle on their hands as Swindon took the initiative establishing a 5-0 first period lead.
The Hawks eventually scored their first goal, as hard work in the corner saw Player-coach Chris Randall get the home sides first goal with an assist to Dave Rees.
Ryan Attrill then added another assisted by Liam Denness.
The final goal from Hawks saw Dale Corney net with Martin Rich assist. However a strong performance from the visitors saw them skate of with a well deserved 9-3 win condemning the Solent Hawks to defeat.
They are next in action on Saturday 28th against the Solent Wildcard from Gosport, facing off at 9pm.
