‘Inclusive Island’ initiative to champion diversity in Isle of Wight businesses

Isle of Wight businesses are invited to participate in a new ‘Inclusive Island’ programme, which aims to unlock potential within our local community and build a more diverse and sustainable workforce on the Island.

The initiative aims to work with 20 local organisations, offering tailored support to develop inclusivity plans. Through practical advice, training, and ongoing guidance; participants will be equipped to make inclusivity a core part of their operations.

Inclusive Island is fully funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and there is no cost for local businesses to participate.

Inclusive Island Launch Event
On 25th September, the Inclusive Island Launch Event will take place at Building 41 in Cowes, from 10am to 1.30pm.

The event will bring together business leaders, experts, and the community to collaborate on creating an Inclusive Employment Plan and Toolkit.

Embracing inclusivity can enhance your reputation
The event is designed to show businesses how embracing inclusivity can enhance their reputation, spark innovation, and foster a supportive workplace. With a diverse workforce, employers can tap into a broader range of skills and perspectives, helping to build a stronger, more adaptable team.

The day will feature talks from industry experts and advocates of inclusive employment, offering attendees valuable knowledge and inspiration. Participants will also have the chance to connect with local businesses that are already leading in inclusivity, as well as those eager to learn more.

Hands-on workshop and Q&A session
A key highlight will be a hands-on workshop aimed at helping businesses develop practical inclusivity strategies.

Additionally, a Q&A session will provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with a panel of experts.
