Indulge your gardening passions at Rookley’s Gardening Galore! Free entry, parking and delicious homemade cakes

It’s back, the Isle of Wight’s oldest event for ‘all things gardening’ is happening again this year.

Sunday 30th April will see the return of ‘Gardening Galore!’ to the Village Hall and Sports Field in Highwood Lane, Rookley (PO38 3NN).

Supporting local nurseries
After a very tough few years those Island-based horticultural organisations and nurseries that have survived need all the support that we can give them.

Taking place between 10am and 3pm, a variety of growers, nurseries, garden centres, and suppliers of all sorts of things for your garden, will be available for you to browse.

Free entry and free parking
Entry is absolutely free, as is the adjacent parking, which means that there’s no worry about carrying your purchases around with you, just pop them back to your car ….and shop some more.  What could be easier?

Refreshments on offer
When you feel in need of a break, refreshments will be available in the Village Hall, including lots of homemade cakes cooked and served by Rookley Women’s Institute.

Charity collection
Each year a Charity bucket collection takes place as you leave and this year it is for ‘Ability Dogs 4 Young People’, who train assistance dogs to enhance the independence of disabled young people and children living on the Isle of Wight – Island-trained for Island people.

So, put the date in your diary and come along and say hello ….. and find that special plant, or two, that you know you just can’t live without.
