Pupils at Carisbrooke College on GCSE results day

Inspired by resilience, Carisbrooke College celebrates their students’ GCSE successes

Carisbrooke College students and staff are celebrating today as year 11 collect their GCSE results. The results are the culmination of a five year journey at Carisbrooke College, proving that hard work pays off as they move on with impressive results to set them up for bright futures ahead.

The journey has not been an easy one with the pandemic interrupting several years of their education. The students have shown determination, strength and resilience though and we could not be more proud of their progress. Students have collectively and individually exceeded expectations and, as a community, we are incredibly proud of them all.

The majority of students are moving on to take A Level and vocational Level 3 courses at The Island VI Form. However, students are also progressing into a range of apprenticeships and other further education studies both on and off the Island.

Begley: We can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve in the future
Head of School at Carisbrooke College, Karen Begley, said,

“This group of young people have shown amazing levels of motivation over the last year and their results reflect the hard work that they have put in.

“Well done to them all! We can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve in the future.

“I would like to thank our dedicated staff team and parent body who have guided and supported the students to ensure their success.”

Undecided about your next step?
If any year 11 students across the Island are undecided about their next step, it is not too late to join the Island VI Form – the HISP MAT post-16 provision on the Island.

Students at The Island VI Form thrive in an environment that is solely focused on Post-16 teaching and learning, making it the perfect stepping stone between school and university, apprenticeship or the world of work.
