International Day at Cowes Primary showcases global traditions and cuisines

Last updated:

Cowes Primary School has held its annual International Day,  a fantastic way of sharing the diversity of cultures, food, music and costumes of our school community.

It was a wonderful opportunity to admire the children’s work, sample international foods and see traditional costumes, which so many children wore to school on the day.

Headteacher, Stephanie Praetig, said,

“We were delighted that many of our international parents were also able to support the event, sharing their own stories and information of their cultures with the children, providing samples of Italian pizza, Turkish tea and an array of home cooked foods from Bangladesh, China, Indonesia and the Philippines.”

The children performed a Greek dance on the playground to the parents, who clapped along enthusiastically. It was a super day celebrating the diversity of our school which has over 25% of children from other countries all over the world.
