Investigation into burglaries in Newport, Cowes and Ventnor

Detectives are making enquiries into reports received in Newport, Cowes and Ventnor.

Open windowAmounts of cash, plus purses, computer consoles and games were among items reported stolen from addresses in Castle Road (Newport), High Street (Ventnor), Queens Road (Cowes) and St. John’s Road (Newport) between Thursday, August 8, 2013 and Saturday, August 10, 2013.

Officers are particularly keen to trace a male seen in the College Road and Cypress Road area of Newport at approximately 11.30am on Thursday, August 8, 2013.

Description
He was described as:

  • White
  • 5 ft 8 ins tall
  • Aged in his mid to late teens
  • Slight build
  • Medium-length smart brown hair
  • He was wearing a long-sleeved maroon top, jeans, trainers and carrying a beige-coloured backpack

It’s believed this person may have important information about one of the burglaries or the identity of whoever was responsible.
