Thanks to forum member Looby Loo for letting us know about this brilliant event that has been organised by a couple of Ventnor chaps.
Matt and Danny (maybe better known as Widget Productions) have organised a catering and hospitality trade exhibition taking place at the end of the month.
The intention of the Expo is to showcase catering and hospitality related businesses that are based on the Wight. As far as Island economy goes, this is one of the fastest growing areas, so to Matt and Danny, it seemed like the perfect time to organise an event where businesses could present their products and services to a wider audience.
The rather excellent Taste magazine (review coming shortly on VB) are supporting the Island Expo by sponsoring “The Taste Kitchen”. Here you will be able to watch some of the top Island chefs demonstrating their skills and sharing their knowledge.
Local chefs, including Mark Young of St Helen’s Restaurant will demonstrate live cooking and helpful tips to inspire visitors with new ideas for the forthcoming season. We hear that there’s even going to be a ‘ready-steady-cook’ style ‘cook-off’! Blimey!
Not only that, but Business Link are offering FREE seminars with specialist advice on all those essential topics “needed to educate and inspire those seeking to expand, improve and learn more about business.”
Many are already confirmed to show their products at the expo, including The Isle of Wight Espresso Co, Ventnor businesses – Showerail and Ventnor Brewery. You’ll also find Minghella Ice Cream, Rosemary Vineyard, The Isle of Wight Bacon Company and many more.
It sounds like it’s going to be great for exhibitors and visitors
The exhibition opening times are:
Wednesday 27th 10am – 8pm
Thursday 28th 10am – 5pm
