Island Extreme: Head to Pop-Up to find out more about inspiring story

Between now and Christmas, Island Extreme Scooters will be running a pop-up shop at Wight Trash in Ryde.

The story behind the company is quite an inspirational one.

One of the top riders in the UK
Ranked fourth best rider in the UK earlier this year, 19 year old Blake Nash, took a nasty fall, dropping 20ft and breaking his jaw.

Forced to take some time out and wanting to set up his own thing, Blake decided to launch Island Extreme. He’s now making his own equipment, providing scooter maintenance and selling scooter-related products.

He even makes his own bars for the scooters, a long and difficult process including design, modifications, the bars having to be sent off for treatment, ensuring safety standards, etc.

Pop-up in Ryde
Blake now has a great collection of scooters and products for sale in a pop-up shop at Wight Trash, 59 High Street, Ryde.

If you are thinking of buying a scooter or scooter related products this year, try this new Island business first and help Blake make a success of it.

The pop-up opening times between now and Christmas are:

Thursdays – 3pm-6pm
Fridays – 3pm-6pm
Saturdays/Sundays – 10:30am – 5pm
Monday-Wednesday closed

Christmas Eve 10.30am-4pm
Boxing Day 12-4pm

Back in the game
After his accident, Blake took around six months off, but recently competed, coming 11th in the UK, despite his injuries and break from the sport.

To get an idea of just how brilliant Blake is on the scooter check out this video from last year. Home grown talent at its best.

You can stay in touch with what Blake’s up to via the Island Extreme Instagram (@islandextreme) – already very popular with 11.5K followers and over 130,000 likes this year – or through the Island Extreme Facebook Page.
