St Boniface school site

Island Free School finds its first home

The Island Free School, due to open in September 2014, has announced this morning that they’ve secured a temporary site for the school.

Ventnor residents will be pleased to see that the former St Boniface Primary School will be once again be in use, as the Island Free School’s year seven students start at the school in September 2014.

The pupils will remain at the St Boniface site for a year while a new ‘state of the art’ school undergoes construction at a nearby location (more on that later).

Headmaster Steph Boyd said,

“We are delighted to have secured this beautiful old building as our temporary home.

“We will soon be meeting with our Education Funding Agency Project Director, and our Centrprise (ICT) Project Manager, to plan the site development to ensure it meets the needs of our high quality secondary school.”
