The Isle of Wight has been selected as one of the five best places in the World to cycle.
TNT magazine, whose self-stated aim is “To provide inspiration for independent travellers”, puts the Island in at number four in the list.
The co-selected locations are global and varied – Bolivia; Morocco; Danube; Malaysia.
‘Death Road’: Number 1
The list starts with the ‘exciting’ sounding Death Road in Bolivia, which is describes with no discernible irony as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Given the article says it’s “estimated between 200-300 travellers are killed annually” on that road, visitors who come to the Island will find it a little more sedate here, although with events on the Isle of Wight called “Hills Killer“, some of the rides can be testing.
Either way, that sort of attention must be good for attracting visitors to the Island.
(Many thanks to Seb for pointing this out)
