Island Line Update: Ongoing Disruption Caused By FloodingHeavy flooding continues to affect the Island Line this evening and a restricted train service remains in operation.

However, following an extensive water pumping operation by engineers, the level of service will be increased to two trains an hour from 18.00 tonight.

Train services will depart from Shanklin at 18 and 40 minutes past each hour, and from Ryde St Johns at 13 and 55 minutes past each hour.

Bus replacement
A bus replacement service will remain in place between Ryde St Johns and Ryde Esplanade. The same level of service is expected for tomorrow morning (Thursday 11 November).

Ryde tunnel remains closed until further notice and Island Line engineers are continuing to work hard to fully reopen the line as soon as possible.

An Island Line spokesperson said: “This is an exceptional situation with some of the the worst flooding we have seen in the last 10 years. Our engineering team are trying everything they can to allow the tunnel to safely reopen. We would like to thank our passengers for their understanding and apologise for the inconvenience caused by these exceptional circumstances. Further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available”.
