Island Planning Strategy consultation delayed due to upcoming general election

Following the decision of Full Council on 1st May to publish the Island Planning Strategy (IPS) and then submit to the Secretary of State, the six week period for public representation was due to start on Monday, 10th June 2024.

Start delayed due to election
However due to the general election being called for 4th July 2024 and the associated pre-election period which restricts what a council can publish during that period, the publication of the IPS has been delayed and the six week period is now scheduled to start on Monday, 8th July 2024.

Have your say
A reminder that the six week period for public representation is an opportunity for anyone to make comments on the soundness of the IPS and suggest any changes they think are necessary.

All duly made comments received are then submitted to the Secretary of State together with the IPS and evidence base for an independent planning inspector to review and carry out a public examination.

Stay up to date
Further updates will be posted on the IPS webpage in due course.
