Island Roads has announced the completion of carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works in Wroxall.
The highways contractor confirmed the works will be finished today (Monday 9th February 2026).
Traffic management will be removed during the afternoon and evening, allowing the road to return to normal use.
Outstanding works remain weather-dependent
They say that some road-lining works remain outstanding, adding that these tasks are weather-dependent and will be completed as soon as conditions allow.
Contractor praises community support
Island Roads thanks Wroxall residents for their patience and cooperation during the project. In a message to residents, the contractor highlighted the community’s welcoming nature throughout the works.
Island Roads staff received friendly conversations and cups of tea from residents, even during challenging weather conditions.
Parking restrictions return
Parking restrictions will return to normal once the road reopens. Island Roads has asked residents to adhere to all parking regulations to ensure public safety.
The contractor had previously relaxed parking restrictions during the works.
Future embankment works planned
Island Roads will begin embankment stabilisation works on St John’s Road on Monday 2nd March 2026.
The contractor is undertaking these works on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council.
