Island voices heard: Public meeting with PCC to discuss policing priorities on the Isle of Wight

Last updated:

Don’t forget this this Friday there is a chance to meet the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and put your questions to her.

After some persistent work by Ryde’s Monktonmead councillor, Karen Lucioni – who is also Cabinet member for Community Protection, Regulatory Services and Waste – Donna Jones has agreed to meet with residents and members of the public to discuss policing and crime across the Island.

Changing Police priorities and how resources are allocated are part of the new ideas that are being worked on alongside the recently appointed new Chief Constable, Scott Chilton.

All Island residents are welcome – You don’t have to live in Ryde to attend.

Lucioni: I have persisted in asking the PCC to visit
Cllr Lucioni, told News OnTheWight,

“I have been working hard to get the necessary Policing support in place for our Island and have persisted in asking the PCC to visit for a vital meeting with our residents so that they can put their questions and concerns directly to the PCC, without any barriers and on any subject they wish to find out about.

“I am delighted Donna has agreed to personally attend a community meeting later this week  and I look forward to her visit.”
