The WI is one hundred years old! To celebrate its centenary, a baton left Anglesey on January 1st 2014, where the first meeting was held. It has been traveling around the UK and last week was on the Isle of Wight.
Members of the Appley WI were treated to a fascinating talk from President, Pam Fenna, who described sailing the Atlantic on the tall ship ‘Tenacious’.
The Isle of Wight Council is to reopen Ryde’s famous landmark, Appley Tower, for one day only as part of the celebrations of Appley Day on Saturday 22nd June.
