Glorious weather heralded the opening Regatta of the Hants & Dorset Amateur Rowing Association Championship program for 2014, hosted by Ryde Rowing Club, from the beach at Appley on Saturday (17th May).
Ryde is known as ‘the Gateway to the Isle of Wight’ due to its Victorian pier where the Wightlink passenger ferry arrives. Hovertravel’s Hover also has a terminal here.
The shopping in Ryde is well-renowned with lots of independent shops.
Ryde has very large, shallow beaches and parks to match, making it a popular destination during the summer.
It’s also the largest conurbation on the Isle of Wight.
