No-one was injured and the fire in the engine room was extinguished by the time the ferry, Wight Sky, arrived back in Yarmouth Harbour some 50 minutes after leaving.

Yarmouth RNLI rescue features in BBC TV documentary

Yarmouth Severn class lifeboat Eric and Susan Hiscock (Wanderer) 17-25 providing safety cover during the Round the Island Race 2016. Sailing yachts, offshore, leisure, coastal safey.

The next episode in the second series of BBC2’s documentary on the RNLI, which airs at 8pm on Tuesday 26th September, will include footage of the Yarmouth lifeboat in action and interviews with the Coxswain and members of the volunteer crew.
