Islanders unite in support of Kezi’s Kindness founder’s wedding amidst incurable cancer diagnosis

A GoFundMe appeal has been launched on the Isle of Wight to help make a special dream come true for a mother whose six-year-old daughter was tragically killed by her father eight years ago, and who has now been diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Tragic diagnosis spurs a heartwarming proposal
Nikki has been a pillar of support for many children and families on the Isle of Wight. She established Kezi’s Kindness in memory of her daughter Keziah Flux-Edmonds, and earlier this year opened the Bumblebee playground in East Cowes in her honour.

Nikki’s partner, Patrick, proposed to her on New Year’s Day and hopes to create a memorable experience, despite their challenging circumstances.

A call for community support
Willow Winch, who set up the fundraising appeal, said,

“Nikki helps so many children and families here on the Isle of Wight in memory of her beautiful daughter Kezi, who sadly was taken too soon by her daddy.

“Now, it is our turn to make something happen for Nikki and Patrick.

“I think it would be a lovely, thoughtful idea if we could all raise some funds so Nikki and Patrick can have a lovely wedding and a weekend away with their beautiful Wilson (their pet dog) as funds are not allowing them to get married at all unfortunately.”
