Staff on stage for the Length of Service and Good conduct award

Isle of Wight ambulance staff celebrated for exceptional service and conduct

Members of the IW Ambulance Service have been recognised at an awards ceremony held at Northwood House.

The evening celebrated length of service and good conduct and special commendation awards which recognised the outstanding care, compassion, and commitment of IW Ambulance service members.

The event was hosted by Victoria White, Director of IW Ambulance Service and awards were presented by Mrs Susie Sheldon JP, His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Chief Executive, Penny Emeritt and Joe Smyth, Chief Officer.

White: I am incredibly proud of the service we provide
Victoria White said,

“It is a real privilege to be able to recognise Ambulance colleagues in this way and celebrate the exceptional dedication and commitment they show to the service.

“It takes remarkable people to do what we do everyday and I am incredibly proud of the service we provide to our Island community.”

During the ceremony, those members of the Ambulance service presented with an award, received either a certificate of recognition, a commemorative length of service medal or pin badge.

Hovertravel team members were also recognised and awarded the 2023 Team Commendation Award for their assistance during a medical emergency. In February of 2023 the Hovertravel team on duty assisted the IW Ambulance Service with a cardiac arrest at their Ryde terminal.

Attrill: We salute our colleagues who have been recognised by this award
Steve Attrill, Head of Marine Operations at Hovertravel, also said,

“Our emergency rapid off-Island transfer service is a success because of the diligence and dedication of our staff and the close working relationship we have with the ambulance service.

“Everyone at Hovertravel is proud to be able to provide this facility and we salute our colleagues who have been recognised by this award.”
