Isle of Wight band DRONGO premiered on Clash Music

James Pinfield-Wells and Ellis Durand are the duo behind Isle of Wight band, DRONGO.

The local lads signed to Organ Records earlier this month and today (Friday) their first single, Miami (due out in July), premiered as Clash Music’s Track of the Day.

We’re really pleased to hear the news, as we’ve been listening to music by Ellis for a few years now and love the collaboration.

Second Isle of Wight signing
Organ Records was set up by music producers Boe Weaver (aka Jim and Rob Homes) and is being run from Studio Humbug on the Isle of Wight.

Back in February OnTheWight ran an appeal for bands to get in touch with Organ and since then, they’ve also signed Swan Levitt, who they’re producing an entire album with.

Vagabonds, strays and wayward geniuses
Here’s what Clash Music have to say about it all,

“Seeking out new talent, Organ aims to be a platform for underground music, for vagabonds, wastrels, strays, and wayward geniuses.

“Isle of Wight duo DRONGO certainly fit the bill. The two-piece have a warped, woozy sound, filtering odd effects through their stripped down slacker ethos.

“Gnarly riffs matched to vocals that seem dis-connected from the world around them, it’s a beautifully abrasive sound.”
