Things for Isle of Wight band, Wet Leg, just seem to get better and better.
On Monday evening they premiered their third single, ‘Too Late Now’ for the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ slot on Radio 1’s Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
Shortly afterwards their latest music video (see below) went live on the Wet Leg YouTube channel, which has already clocked up millions of views thanks to the first two singles, Chaise Longue and Wet Dream.
The first two tracks alone have amassed 6.5m plays on music streaming service, Spotify.
Plenty of killer tracks
Having seen the band play a full live set on the Isle of Wight last year, we know this won’t be the ‘difficult third single’, as they have plenty of hits in their playbook.
Their album, Wet Leg, comes out on 8th April 2022.
Last week’s feature by BBC Newsbeat’s music reporter, Steve Holden, was also a huge hit on social media, with fans from around the world letting the band know just how much they love their work. It’s still on the home page of the BBC News Website.
Importance of community
When recently announced as ambassadors for 2022’s Independent Venue Week, the annual event which celebrates music spaces around the country, the duo, Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, spoke of the importance of community within the music scene.
