Isle of Wight band, Wet Leg, launch second single and music video to instant acclaim

Isle of Wight band, Wet Leg, have released their second single to instant acclaim, seeing their social media accounts being flooded with praise.

Wet Dream is described as, “a two-and-a-half minute slice of exuberance as unforgettable and buoyant as ‘Chaise Longue’ that cements them as one of the most thrilling bands to emerge this year”.

The track had its first radio airplay last night (Tuesday) on BBC Radio One, and after the band shared the link to the accompanying music video, it’s seen over 25,000 views in just 13 hours (see below).

A break-up song
One half of the Wet Leg duo, Rhian Teasdale (pictured left), explains the origins of the song,

“Wet Dream is a break-up song; it came about when one of my exes went through a stage of texting me after we we’d broken-up, telling me that he’d ‘had a dream about me’.”

Once again filmed over in the West Wight, this time the music video features all the band members who perform with Rhian and Hester (Chambers).

Millions of streams
The band signed to Domino Records earlier this year and their debut single, Chaise Longue, has managed to clock up over three million streams and the music video over one million views.

Chaise Longue created a huge buzz and was the track of the summer, attracting attention even from the likes of Iggy Pop, who told The Guardian,

“When I heard Chaise Longue by Wet Leg I got really excited: it’s cheeky, with a wicked groove, but it’s the vocals – they’re almost metronomic. You could ask 100 people to sing it and it wouldn’t sound the same.”
