Wet Leg: Isle of Wight duo sign to Domino Records and release their first single, Chaise Longue (updated)

Those into the Isle of Wight music scene will already be familiar with the beautifully luscious sounds of Rhian Teasdale (RHAIN) and Hester Chambers (Maybe Tuesday/Blackhouse Crow).

What you might not have realised is that over the last couple of years Hester and Rhian have teamed up to form a new band called Wet Leg.

Signed to Domino Records
News OnTheWight are long-time fans of the band, having seen them play at the likes of Rhythmtree Festival and the long-lost Rose Inn, and are therefore very excited to announce that Wet Leg have now been signed to Domino Records.

The British independent record label has been running since the early ’90s and represent artists such as Pavement, Tricky, Buzzcocks, Franz Ferdinand, Super Furry Animals and of course, Arctic Monkeys, so Wet Leg are among great company.

Debut single
Not only do Wet Leg have that exciting news to share, but also the release of their debut single, Chaise Longue.

Produced by fellow Islander, Jon McMullen, and mixed by Alan Moulder (Arctic Monkeys, Beach House, Foals), Chaise Longue is described as “an infectious, tongue-in-cheek instant-classic with a suitably irrepressible video to match”.

Music video
Watch the video below to see if you agree and don’t forget check out the stream of the single too.

If you already follow the band on social media, you won’t be surprised to hear that the music video was produced by themselves. It’s partially filmed on Ventnor Downs, close to the site of the former radar station.
