Isle of Wight bus driver named best in the country at UK Bus ‘Oscars’

Southern Vectis bus driver, Dave Forrester, has this afternoon been awarded the position country’s top driver in UK Bus Awards – the bus world’s Oscars.

Dave has been singled out for his professionalism, excellent customer service and amiable personality, as well as scoring highly for his adaptable and flexible work ethic.

Unsurprisingly pleased, Dave said,

“I’m thrilled to be awarded top prize. It really is one of the highlights of my career. The bonus is, I love helping passengers travelling with Southern Vectis – whether they are local people or visitors to the island. I’d like to thank all those who have nominated and supported me.”

Praise from the top boss
Southern Vectis managing director, Andrew Wickham, said,

“We are fortunate enough to have a group of experienced and highly-skilled professionals, providing out customers with an excellent service, transporting them across the Isle of Wight with the minimum of fuss.

“But Dave stands out. His colleagues say he is a joy to work with – and our passengers hold him in very high regard. This latest recognition is just reward for all his efforts.”
