Isle of Wight businesses urged to have their say in Wight BID 3 ballot

Visit Isle of Wight is encouraging businesses across the Island to get involved in the Wight BID 3 renewal process and have their say in October’s ballot.

What is proposed in the Wight BID 3 plan?
The proposed Wight BID 3 Business Plan 2026 – 2031 – Shaping the Future of the Isle of Wight Visitor Economy – sets out the priorities and ambitions for the next five years, including continued investment in marketing the Island, stronger partnerships and representation, and commercial growth and intelligence.

Businesses are encouraged to read the Business Plan to understand what is proposed, what is changing and how Wight BID 3 aims to support the Island’s visitor economy.

Key dates for the ballot
The Notice of Ballot was issued to eligible businesses last week, with important information about the ballot process, how to vote and key deadlines.

Ballot papers will be sent out next week (1st October), with votes to be returned by post no later than 29th October 2026.

Meet the team and ask questions
Visit Isle of Wight is also continuing its stakeholder engagement programme, with opportunities for businesses to meet the team, ask questions and discuss the proposals.

A joint Chamber of Commerce networking event will take place on 9th October, and two free social media training sessions are being delivered alongside Zesty Marketing.

Wray: Make sure your voice is heard
Interim CEO Dominic Wray (pictured right) will be touring the Island and visiting BID levy payers during this time, providing an opportunity to hear directly from businesses and discuss the future of Wight BID 3.

Dominic Wray, Interim CEO of Visit Isle of Wight, said,

“Wight BID 3 is about working together to shape the future of our Island’s visitor economy, and I encourage businesses to get involved, read the Business Plan and make sure their voice is heard in October’s ballot.

“We have ambitious plans for the next five years, from continuing to market the Isle of Wight and attract visitors, to strengthening partnerships and supporting commercial growth. But we know that the best results come from working closely with businesses and understanding their priorities.

“I’m looking forward to visiting levy payers across the Island over the coming weeks, listening to their views and discussing what we can achieve together. I encourage all eligible businesses to take part in the engagement opportunities and vote in October.”
