Isle of Wight Cabinet To Be Reduced To Six Members

Leader of the Isle of Wight council, David Pugh, is planning to reduce the size of the Cabinet to six members from next month.

A Delegated Decision Report released today reveals the plans to make the Cabinet reduction and to appoint Cllr Hunter Henderson as Cabinet Secretary.

The revised Cabinet will be made up as follows:

Councillor David Pugh
Will assume overall responsibility for resources so shall have the additional title of Cabinet Member for Resources

Councillor George Brown
Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Environment

Councillor Dawn Cousins
Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education

Councillor Roger Mazillius
Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, Housing and Community Safety

Councillor Barry Abraham
Cabinet Member for Fire, Culture & Residents’ Services

Councillor Edward Giles
Cabinet Member for Highways, Transport and Waste

Councillor Tim Hunter-Henderson
Cabinet Secretary, subject to the revised job description being agreed at Annual Council on 18 May 2011.
