An Isle of Wight family are shaving their heads and giving up hair for wigs to raise money for the charities supporting 23-year-old Xander through an exceptionally rare brain and spinal tumour.
John Jones is shaving his head alongside his dad and brother. Their older sister is cutting off her hair so it can be made into wigs.
Radiotherapy at Southampton General
Xander has diffuse leptomeningeal glioneuronal tumour, which affects both the brain and the spine.
She recently finished two months of radiotherapy at Southampton General Hospital and has lost the use of her legs.
Where the money goes
The family are raising money for Jean’s House and Young Lives vs Cancer.
Both charities have supported Xander and her family throughout her treatment, and the money will help them carry on that work.

Donating to the appeal
The appeal had raised more than £665 towards its £900 target at the time of writing.
People can donate through the family’s GoFundMe page.
