Congratulations to Bruce Webb and the team responsible for yet another fantastic Isle of Wight Film Festival.
The four-day event came to an end on Saturday evening at the Awards Ceremony held in Ventnor.
The judges for each of the categories presented their findings and announced the winners to an audience of directors and actors.
Before the films even made it into the festival, 100s had to be viewed by the submissions teams. Well done to Bruce (features), as well as Claire Speight (Isle of Wight shorts), Georgia Lakey (Human Rights and Environmental shorts) and Sandy Ciccognani (Drama shorts) for their dedication to the festival.
Announcing the winners
Well done to all those who made it into the festival, the quality of films was excellent. Special praise to those who were chosen as winners in their categories:
- The Amnesty International Award for Best Human Rights Short Film: Pedestrian Crossing by Colin Murnane. (Special Mention to Before Spring by Mary Hasavan)
- The Rapanui Award for Best Environmental Short Film: Food for Thought, Food for Life by Susan Rockefeller.
- The Whatever Pictures Best Short Drama Award: Tras Bambalinas by Rafa Garcia.
- The Whatever Pictures Best IOW Short Film: Islands by Sophia Goulandris. Special Mention to Ted and Carol Lyons for their Short Film work over the last 9 years.
