The floating bridge is due to be out of service today (Friday) between 8am and 2pm according to the Isle of Wight council.
They say that during routine maintenance, some wear was detected on the East prow ram.
The service is being suspended in order to carry out repairs ahead of a busy weekend: Some 3,000 cyclists are expected for the Isle of Wight Randonnee, as well as the IW Ultra Challenge.
A launch will be in place today for pedestrians and cyclists. Expect delays.
