The Isle of Wight’s food hygiene inspectors were busy in the run-up to Christmas, dishing out ratings for cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Based on Food Standards Agency guidance, inspectors judge how clean food businesses are, what conditions are like, how hygienic the food handling is and what food safety management procedures are in place.
They are then given a rating between zero and five, where five is the best.
