Isle of Wight food hygiene ratings revealed: Which establishments excelled

How have Isle of Wight restaurants, pubs, cafes, hotels and shops fared recently in food hygiene inspections?

Based on guidance from the government’s Food Standards Agency, eateries are judges on how clean they are; how hygienic the food handling is and what food safety management procedures are in place.

The Isle of Wight council’s environmental health officers carry out the inspections and based on the findings award the establishments with a score out of 60.

The scores then fall into one of six ratings — ranging from five (very good) to zero (urgent improvement necessary).
