Haven Hall Hotel, situated in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, has been crowned the second Best Luxury Hotel in the United Kingdom in the recent Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
These awards draw their conclusions based on the review data from international travellers.
During the period from 1st January to 31st December 2022, over 1.5 million hotels had their reviews analysed to determine the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotels.
Range of categories
This broad category was further broken down into sub-categories including All-inclusive, B&Bs, Family-Friendly, Hottest New Hotels, Luxury, Out of the Ordinary Hotels, and Small Hotels, with the addition of two new categories for 2023: Best Hotels for Sleep and Best Hotels with Spas.
Leading the UK ranking, Shangri-La The Shard in London secured the top spot, being named Europe’s and the UK’s No. 1 Top Hotel, in addition to being the 4th worldwide.

However, the spotlight shines brightly on Haven Hall Hotel, which has not only earned the title of second Best Luxury Hotel in the UK, but also achieved an impressive 15th place in Europe.
Haven Hall Hotel also featured prominently in the Small Hotels category. It mirrored its success in the luxury category, taking second place for Small Hotels in the UK and ranking 13th in Europe.
The owners David and Arielle Barratt said that the award was really a reflection of the quality of the excellent staff who worked with them as part of the family team running the hotel.
